    Google and Facebook’s “Filter Bubble” a dangerous inhibitor of information. 

    TED TALK:

    An extremely interesting pattern is emerging on large sites like facebook, google, and even netflix. Data is being shown to you based on your interests/likes/browing patterns, resulting in an "custom edited" view of the internet.  Much like newspapers and television now only a handful of sites can "control" what we see.  The internet should not be isolated, It should be raw, unedited and definitely inconvenient.

    We should be the sorters of information, and we as users should be deciding what’s relevant, NOT THEM.

    Monetizing Captcha: Worst trend ever? Or best Idea ever?! 

    Captchas… I’m sure we have all been frustrated by them at times, but is this the answer to the headache? Solve media has come up with a way to monetize Captchas with relevant ads. To many its better than trying to decipher the hieroglyphic-like Captchas, but is it too much? I think at its roots it is harmless if it strictly replaces pre-existing captchas. My fear though is in an effort to increase ad dollars captchas will in turn be increased in order to make more money… potentially cluttering sites up a bit more and making unnecessary changes GUI designs.

    I guess only time will tell! :p ONE THING IS FOR SURE, I HATE CAPTCHAS

    WOW so this has been a big season for flash! Maybe they are feeling the heat of recent competition? Anyway 64bit flash is out, try it out!

    How to handle that guy who knows a friend of a brothers girlfriend, who barely knows you but wants a full flash website for $25 

    What to say to that “guy” that shows up and knows you all of sudden, and wants a website for $50. (Don’t get me wrong, I’ve done plenty of websites for my family members for free, but we are strictly talking about “that guy”)

    Updates, Downtime, and News…

    Hey so my server went down…:( lol and it really screwed everything up. My traffic was great and now… its so low now because when I look at my analytics for where the blog is linked, its all screwed up and going to the wrong places unfortunately! But hey, no sweat! I’m gonna make the best of the situation and this post is to inform you that the blog is going to get some little aesthetic updates(got some great ideas I want to put together), and after the success of my first video tutorial….(drumroll please lol)I’m launching a mini video series on my blog! What is it? I’m going to give a full comprehensive tutorial on how to learn photoshop to… lets say an intermediate level. Maybe I’ll then do another series on…. hmmm 3ds max, possibly the basics of afterFX, or dreamweaver? not sure though.. I guess it all depends on how much work I take on and when my site launches(which is a whole other ordeal lol). I would like to note though, I think that all these randoms posts I do are interesting so I will continue to do them at the same time as the tutorial vids! So stay tuned as I gather my thoughts and put this series together – My Goal is to make it as easy as possible to understand while remaining full of technical info, but go over it in a way that isn’t dead pan boring like all of those other crappy vids out there (yes I said that lol)!

    VIDEO TUTORIAL: Panoramic Photos In Photoshop 

    Well here’s my first video tutorial! Please be patient as I “FINE TUNE” my video quality/production settings (and get feedback lol) but I thought that this would be a great simple introduction to video tutorials… but I’ll eventually work my way up to doing more advanced techniques in After Fx, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Actionscript, Flex, silo, nuke, combustion and some 3ds max/v-ray ones too!  Make sure to go to full screen as the .FLV is very high quality and can handle it!
